Seasonal Events

To keep students engaged and excited about our after-school programs, we offer a variety of events to foster a fun learning environment.

Every 6 to 8 weeks, we host a “seasonal event”, which consists of a themed-activity and small gift-bags.

Example: Each Thanksgiving our English/Language Arts classes have assignment for students to write a thank-you letter to either a military soldier or a hospitalized kid. Activities like this allow us to continue building up our students skills, but also make our assignments more relevant on a larger scale.

Cost: FREE for all students enrolled in our After School Program

Competitions

In addition to hosting our own competitions, Curie partners with many local and national organizations to provide our students with easy access to a variety of competitions. These are a great way for students to showcase the skills they learned in class and see the progress they’ve made.

Some of our competitions include:

• Math Kangaroo

• Continental Math League (CML)

• American Math League (AML)

• Curie-TAMA Writing and Math Competitions

• American Computer Science League (ACSL)

Cost: Vary by competition (Range $10-$15/each)

Workshops

As part of our holistic learning approach, we offer several workshops throughout the year, relating to additional extra-curricular activities, insight into higher-education programs, and career information.

Some of our past workshops have included

• Presentation on Flying/Aviation as a Career and After-School Activity (Shown in Picture)

• Public Speaker Workshop

• Q&A Session for College Admissions Process

• Information on High School Classes (AP vs Honors vs Advanced)

Cost: Most Workshops are FREE for students enrolled in our After School Program
